Construction Options

Material is central to performance so only top grade wood, wood core composites and laminates are used for the ATTITUDE line. There are four (4) construction options:

  • High Performance: The ATTITUDE high-performance design utilizes Canadian maple, which is optimal for strength and stability, and is sandwiched with triaxial fiberglass which is specifically developed for high performance skis to obtain the optimal combination of stiffness profile and torsional rigidity in combination with the wood core taper profile.
  • High Performance Light: ATTITUDE light construction is a maple core sandwiched with carbon/flax reinforcement* which reduces the weight by 15%, providing an energetic and powerful ride with the advantage of a lighter swing weight.
  • High Performance Ultra-Light: ATTITUDE ultra-light construction incorporates bCore from Bcomp.  bCore is the lightest wood core on the market, combining low density flat balsa wood veneers with specifically tailored flax shear webs. The result is a high-performance ultra-lightweight core with excellent shear and fatigue properties and these engineered cores provide a classic wood ski feeling. When combined with carbon/flax reinforcement* these skis are 30% lighter for an easygoing fun ride.
  • High Performance Power Dual Core**: The Fels patented offset camber & sidecut shape combined with the Thoroughbred Power Dual Core is designed to surprise even the most accomplished skier.  Combining our technologies has resulted in the most unique and high performance ski available. A maple power lens tapering into ultra-light bComp in the tip and tail zones, combined with carbon/flax* and the only pre-cambered core profile in the industry is our ultimate ski for skiers seeking a lightweight high performance ski.

*These lighter weight carbon designs incorporate triaxial carbon fiber / ampliTex reinforcement around the high performance light or ultra-light wood core.  Carbon is a great weight saver, but by itself can produce an unpredictable ski. AmpliTex is a next-generation natural flax fibre material that contributes to the stiffness, but most importantly has great dampening characteristics. The combination of the snappy carbon with dampening ampliTex makes this one of the smoothest fun-riding carbon ski composites available.

Power Dual Core**

For skiers that crave to carve up the mountain this ATTITUDE option is the ultimate core packed with technology features, and 20% lighter than the ATTITUDE High Performance option.

Power Lens

A solid maple lens is at the center for amazing grip, energy and stability that comes from handpicked, hardwood cores.

Feather Tip & Tail

The power maple lens tapers into light-weight bCore in the tip & tail for low swing weight so you can initiate turns with ease yet benefit from the power derived from the middle of the ski’s maple core.

Preload Camber

Precision machining builds the ski camber into the core (conventional cores are flat). This unique process means that the core builds carving pressure earlier in your turns, making them easier to initiate and offers incredible release of energy between turns. This release of energy is controlled to better propel the skier into a superior balanced position moving between turns while offering incredible edge grip.

Additional Material Features for all options

Base

A fast gliding base makes skiing easier, and of course keeps you moving smoothly with all the speed you need. All ATTITUDE skis include sintered UHMW-PE, which is a world-cup race quality base of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene with high quality carbon black, modified with special fluor and paraffin based additives, for better gliding in a wide range of conditions. Great wax hold reduces the frequency needed to wax and keep great glide.

Edges

Great performance needs high quality edges. ATTITUDE skis incorporate edges featuring high wear resistance, toughness, optimal lubricity, optimized adhesion properties, high breaking strength and high corrosion resistance.

Tip and Tail Protection

It may seem like a detail, but the tips and tails can take a beating on and off the slopes. The ATTITUDE line includes protection. A titanal layer is included in the tip and Elastolan inserts protect the tail.

Bindings

PIVOT 12 – The freeride ski binding sets the standard for control and release for the world’s most dedicated skiers. The binding’s Full Action toe piece and unique “turntable” heel design offer expert freeskiers a responsive connection between boot and ski for instant power transmission and precise ski control. It features powerful shock absorption and travel with confident retention and release for aggressive skiing. It’s compatible with all traditional Alpine (ISO 5355) and GripWalk® boot soles.

PIVOT 15 – The freeride ski binding comes with a 15 DIN rating and in a gold, metallic edition for a distinctive look. The binding’s durable aluminum toe piece and unique “turntable” heel design offer expert freeskiers a responsive connection between boot and ski for instant power transmission and precise ski control. It features powerful shock absorption and travel with confident retention and release for aggressive skiing. It’s compatible with all traditional Alpine (ISO 5355) and GripWalk® boot soles.

SPX 12 – The SPX 12 GripWalk® binding is a high-performance freeride binding for aggressive skiers. The combination of a Full Action toe piece and SPX heel deliver the longest elastic travel on the market for unmatched shock absorption. The result is instant power transmission and precise control with superior shock absorption to reduce unwanted pre-release. It’s compatible with traditional Alpine (ISO 5355) and GripWalk® boot soles. We also offer the The SPX 12 Konect GripWalk® version which is mounted on a track system allowing the flexibility to set up the skis for various boot sizes.
