Shaping Turns Since 1985

FELS DESIGN FEATURES

Patented Design:  Relationship between Waist, Camber & Boot Sole Midpoint

The percentage to which the waist and apex of the camber curve is offset from the middle of the ski’s running surface as defined by the width at tip and tail in relationship to the skiers position on the ski is key to creating a new turn shape that provides outstanding ski performance.  This ratio is designed and adjusted per each specific model.

Quality First

Blending top quality composite materials for specific geometries are central to producing performance skis. From innovative core designs to racing bases the FELS line incorporates only the best selection of materials to enhance the performance of shape.

FELS ATTITUDE SKIS

Each Attitude ski incorporates the FELS patented shape, dimensions are specific to each ski to render the optimum performance and versatility. Simply select a ski or skis that match your skiing ATTITUDE!

All ATTITUDE skis are available in either a classic fibreglass sandwich or Carbon/ flax sandwich.

FELS ANGLE CARBON SL SKIS

Design to perform like a SL race ski with a twist. The carbon construction makes this the lightest SL ski on the market that provides exceptional quickness combined with incredible stability due to the FELS shape and torsional stiffness of the carbon layers.

FELS WILD CARBON TOURING SKIS

Fels patented shape has been fine tuned for the WILD touring ski. Bamboo wood core sandwiched between Carbon/flax layers produces a super lightweight performance touring ski.

CONSTRUCTION

Material is central to performance, Only high grade wood core composites and laminates are used for the FELS line:

  • Fibreglass: The FELS design utilizes Canadian maple (bamboo in the Wild touring ski), which is optimal for strength and stability, and is sandwiched with triaxial fiberglass which is specifically developed for high performance skis to obtain the optimal combination of stiffness profile and torsional rigidity in combination with the wood core taper profile.

  • Carbon:  A maple core combined with carbon/flax* is an option for skiers seeking a lightweight and torsionally stiffer ski.

*The lighter weight carbon design incorporates triaxial carbon fiber / ampliTex reinforcement around the maple core.  Carbon is a great weight saver, but by itself can produce an unpredictable ski. AmpliTex is a next-generation natural flax fibre material that contributes to the stiffness, but most importantly has great dampening characteristics. The combination of the snappy carbon with dampening ampliTex and Fels patented geometry makes this one of the smoothest fun-riding carbon ski composites available.

Additional Material Features

Base

A fast gliding base makes skiing easier, and of course keeps you moving smoothly with all the speed you need. All FELS skis include sintered UHMW-PE, which is a world-cup race quality base of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene modified with special based additives, for better gliding in a wide range of conditions.

Edges

Great performance needs high quality edges. FELS skis incorporate edges featuring high wear resistance, toughness, optimal lubricity, optimized adhesion properties, high breaking strength and high corrosion resistance.

Tip and Tail Protection

The tips and tails can take a beating on and off the slopes. The FELS line includes protection. A titanal layer is included in the tip and Elastolan inserts protect the tail.
